St. Anthony’s farm is up for lease!
152 Tillable Acres up for bid
Notice is hereby given that the St. Anthony’s Parish Council will be accepting bids for the cash rent lease of highly productive farmland for a five (5) year period as follows:
1. Description: 152 tillable acres of land North of Hoopeston, IL in the NE corner of HWY 1 and E 4300 N. Rd.
2. Proof of Insurance Coverage: All bidders shall provide a certificate of liability insurance with their bid.
3. Terms: The successful bidder(s) must execute a five-year written cash rent lease on terms set by the St. Anthony’s Parish Council. A copy of the proposed lease terms is available upon request at the Parish office.
4. Forms and delivery of proposal: All bids must be submitted in person to Debbie Benjamin (Parish Council Secretary) at the St. Anthony’s Parish Hall office by way of sealed bid. Her office hours are Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, Noon-4:00 PM. Within your bid, feel free to express why you believe you would be the best candidate.
5. New Tenant: Will provide (2) payments each year.
a. First payment: 25% of total rent will be due April 1st
b. Second payment (remaining 75%) will be due Dec 1st
New tenant must provide a letter of credit from their financial institution by the close of bidding. If the successful bidder does not meet requirements, the Council reserves the right to re-bid the contract or offer the contract to the next highest bidder at their bid.
6. Reservation of Rights to Accept or Reject Bids: The St. Anthony’s Parish Council reserves the right to reject any or all bids received, to waive any information in the bidding process, and to award this contract to other than high bidder if in the best interest of the farm and Parish.
7. Selection: The winning bid will be selected by the Parish Council at the October 2nd meeting and announced shortly thereafter.
8. Bid Deadline: All bids must be accepted at the Parish office no later than close of business Thursday September 25th 2025.
