• This coming Wednesday, October 29 is family night for our Faith Formation families.  Please join us for All Saints Day activities and treats!  Kids will get extra incentive tickets for parent attendance!

• Don’t miss Saint Anthony’s Vendor Fair and Taco Sales on Saturday, November 1 from 9AM-3PM. Tacos will be sold beginning at 11AM.

• On Saturday, November 15, at 11:30, all Danville area Senior Parish Members are invited to a free luncheon at the Motsett Center.  Please see the bulletin for reservation information.

• To date, ADA donations and pledges are at  $4422.24. This is 22% of our $19,787 goal. Thank you to those who have turned in their pledges and donations.

• The CCD youth will meet at 5 pm on Wed. Oct. 22. Please note the changes in time for the OCIA(5pm) and the adult bible study(6:15pm) which will also meet on Wed. Oct. 15.

• OCIA meets at the Rectory and Bible study meets at the Hall.

• The next Coffee & Rosary will be Tues. OCT. 21 at 9:15 in the Parish Hall. Everyone is invited to participate. Light refreshments will be served.

• The next meeting of Danville Area Women Connect will be at St. Anthony on OCT. 25 from 9am to 11 am. There will be a light breakfast served. Anyone who has questions can contact Linda Nicholls at 217- 260-4599.

• The Vendor Fair will be on Sat. NOV. 1 from 9 am to 3 pm. The famous St. Anthony tacos will be available to purchase from 11 am until we run out.

• The special events committee is planning our annual Christmas party for Sat. DEC. 13 following 5pm mass. There will be soup, sandwiches and cookie decorating along with a raffle. We have prizes for adults and children with tickets available that night.

• The Freedom Years Luncheon will be on Sat. Nov. 15 at 11:30 am at the Mottsett Center. This is a free luncheon for our senior Parish members of St. Paul, St. Mary, St. Anthony and Holy Family parishes. It is a wonderful time to enjoy lunch, entertainment and each other’s company. • The St. Anthony Parish Council is placing the parish farm up for bid. Details are listed in the NEWS section on the parish website (stanthonyhoopeston.com) There is a link to it on the parish Facebook page. The bid period is currently open and ends on Sept. 25th.

• Thank you to all who made a pledge to the Annual Diocesan Appeal. Your generosity helps give food to the hungry, training to our seminarians, and give support to parishes. The ADA helps parishes support programs for forming children like Catechesis of the Good Shepard. If you have not completed a pledge card, please do so. There are envelopes in the pews. Every dollar raised to make our goal supports important diocesan ministries, and every dollar raised over our goal will be kept in the parish to help us. To those who have pledged Thank you. Our goal is $19,787.

The Exaltation of the Holy Cross

September 13-14, 2025 

• Today we celebrate The Exaltation of the Holy Cross.  Today’s feast commemorates the veneration and triumph of the cross, a symbol of Christ’s sacrifice, victory over sin and death, and ultimate redemption for humanity. The readings begin on page 212.

• Children’s Faith Formation classes begin on Wednesday, September 17 at 5PM in the parish hall.  If you have not yet registered your children, you may do that between 4:30-5 on Wednesday.  Fees are $25 per child or $50 for families of 3 or more children.

• Long time parishioner Betty Bushue is celebrating her 90th birthday at the Rankin Lions Club from 2-4 PM on Saturday, September 13.

• Adult Classes with Thomas Baldwin will begin on Wednesday,September 17 not the 10th as announced last week.. Adult sessions will be held in the rectory living room.  You can enter through the front door.

• Armageddon, 666, the mark of the beast.  The adult Bible study will be going through the last book of the Bible, Revelation, starting September 17 at 5PM.  Join us to go through this exciting and confusing book of the Bible.
